When it comes to constructing a building that meets every need, listening to the customer is key. Recently, a returning customer approached us with a specific vision for an RV garage and shop. They wanted a space that could not only house their RV but also provide ample room for a workshop. Understanding these needs was the first step in ensuring that we delivered a building that exceeded expectations.
From the outset, our priority was to clearly understand what the customer wanted. Our PermaBilt® Building Representative met with the customer to discuss every detail of the project. This face-to-face meeting allowed us to grasp the customer’s vision fully, enabling us to translate that into a functional design. The inclusion of a second floor was a significant part of this vision, as it would provide additional space for the shop.
With the customer’s needs at the forefront, our design team got to work on a custom building plan. The final design was a 36’ x 48’ x 20’ structure. Tailored perfectly to accommodate both the RV and the workshop. The design included two 10’ x 8’ raised short panel doors, both non-insulated with rope openers. With a larger 10’ x 14’ raised short panel door, also non-insulated and equipped with a rope opener. These door specifications were chosen to ensure easy access for the RV while maintaining the building’s structural integrity and aesthetic appeal.
One of the standout features of this project was the 48’ x 24’ second story floor. This additional space, complete with a 2” x 6” guardrail. Offered the customer the perfect area for a workshop, storage, or even a potential future expansion. The 4-foot interior straight stairway provided easy access to this upper level, making it a seamless part of the building’s functionality.
The end result was a building that met all the customer’s expectations and more. The combination of thoughtful design, quality materials, and attention to detail ensured that the customer was not only satisfied but genuinely happy with their new RV garage and shop.
