Post Frame Shop in Ravensdale – King County

Permabilt Post Frame Shop Buildings - PERMABILT

Our Ravensdale customer reached out to us with a specific vision in mind: they needed a large post frame shop to store their boat, camping trailer, and other recreational vehicles. In addition to that, they also wanted space for an office for their business. After discussing their requirements, we designed and built a custom post frame building that would fit all their needs perfectly.

A Large Building for Many Purposes

The customer’s property in Ravensdale offers a few acres of space, which made it ideal for a larger structure. They wanted a building that was spacious enough to house all their vehicles and also had room for a dedicated office area. With those needs in mind, we designed a  48′ x 70′ x 16′. This size allowed the customer to store everything they needed while also leaving room for a comfortable office space.

Matching the Exterior of the Home

One important aspect of this project was the customer’s desire to match the exterior of their new building with the look of their home. To achieve this, we used Hardie Lap 8” siding for the walls and Hardie straight shingle for the gable treatment. These materials not only provide durability but also give the building a clean and modern look that complements the home’s exterior.

In addition to the Hardie siding, the customer chose a composition roof to match the overall aesthetic of their property. The roof is built to last, providing long-term protection from the elements.

Custom Features for a Unique Look

The customer also wanted to add some personal touches to their building. To accommodate their custom stone wainscotting, we used house wrap at the bottom 3’ of the gable end. This detail enhances the building’s curb appeal and ties it together with the rest of the property.

We are excited to see how the customer will finish the stonework and bring their vision to life.

High-Quality Doors and Windows

To ensure that the building was both functional and aesthetically pleasing, we included high-quality doors and windows in the design. The shop features three 12′ x 14′ Carriage House Steel back insulated overhead doors with chain hoists and Stockton lites. These doors make it easy for the customer to access the building with large vehicles.

Additionally, there are multiple windows throughout the shop, including a 6′ x 4′ vented vinyl sliding window and two 5′ x 3′ vented vinyl sliding windows. These windows provide natural light and ventilation, making the space more comfortable to work in.

For added convenience, we also installed a 72” x 80” full glass French door and a 4’ x 6’8” PermaBilt® door with self-closing hinges and a stainless-steel lockset. These doors provide easy access to the shop and are built to last.

Other Features

  • 18” full perimeter eave & gable overhangs with open soffits
  • 5” K-Line gutters with four downspouts
  • Bird blocking at both gables
  • Two 12” x 18” gable vents for ventilation

We are thrilled to see our customer’s vision come to life with this custom post frame shop in Ravensdale, this building is sure to serve the customer’s needs for many years to come. We can’t wait to see how they enjoy their new space!
