What is a pole building?
Pole buildings are structures supported by pressure-treated posts buried in the ground which function as foundation and frame. Widespread use of this construction method began in the 1930’s with agriculture buildings. Today pole buildings are used for a variety of residential, agricultural, and commercial purposes. Town and Country, a division of PermaBilt®, has been providing Western Washington with quality pole buildings since 1973.
Do I need a permit?
Yes, in order to begin construction on a pole building you will need engineering documents and a permit from your local permitting agency. One of the many benefits of using PermaBilt® for your post-frame building project is that we have a dedicated team of permitting specialists who can navigate this process on behalf of the customer.
How large is a pole building?
Pole buildings can be built as large or small as you desire. We’ve designed everything from single vehicle carports to sprawling commercial structures.
Can you customize my pole building?
PermaBilt® pole buildings are all made to order. Our helpful building representatives will help you find the perfect building style and will create a design based on your unique requirements. From there, you can select from any number of customizable features. This is your building; our goal is simply to help you bring the image in your mind to life.
What can a pole building be used for?

Can I put up the pole building myself?
Absolutely! For the Do It Yourselfer we offer personalized pole barn kits. We will work with you to design a building kit that meets your individual needs and deliver it your planned building site anywhere in Western Washington.
Do your pole buildings come with a warranty?
Yes, PermaBilt® offers a standard warranty for 12 months from the date of completion. We have optional 5-year weatherization warranties as well as lifetime warranties. The roofing and siding have limited have a limited lifetime warranty from the manufacturer.
Can I add on to my pole building at a later date?
The design of these buildings makes it very easy to build additional bays in the future.
Do I need to use steel siding?
No, we have a variety of other siding option to choose from including T-111 plywood siding with groove spacing. Most customers choose to go with the steel siding because of its durability and ease of maintenance.
When is the concrete slab poured?
The slab can be poured once the building has been erected. Most customers elect to have us pour the floor though some may decide to wait. Our concrete floors are top quality, poured with fibermix reinforcement and zip-strip crack control.
