Barndominiums, ADUs, and DADUs
Barndominiums, ADUs, and DADUs represent one of the most exciting applications of post-frame construction, blending the structural efficiency of a pole building with the livability of a home. The wide-open framing system creates column-free interiors that are ideal for flexible floor plans, whether you’re envisioning a full barndominium with combined living and workspace, a detached guest suite, a multigenerational housing solution, or an income-producing rental unit.
PermaBilt designs and builds the structural shell, including layout and structural prep, so you or your contractor can finish the interior exactly the way you want it.
Horse Barn Buildings and Horse Arenas
Horse facilities demand the kind of wide, unobstructed spans that post-frame construction uniquely delivers. Without interior load-bearing walls, you can design a barn with the exact stall configuration, aisle width, and storage layout your horses and your operation require, or build a fully enclosed riding arena that lets you stay in the saddle regardless of what Western Washington’s weather has in mind.
PermaBilt has been building custom horse barns and arenas across the region for over 50 years, and every structure is engineered to the same exacting standards as our commercial and residential buildings.

Garages, Shops, and Barns
From a single-car garage to a sprawling multi-bay shop, post-frame construction gives you more usable space for less money than conventional framing. Because the walls are non-load-bearing, doors, windows, and openings can go virtually anywhere, making it easy to design a layout around your specific needs rather than working around structural limitations.
PermaBilt has built hundreds of garages, shops, and utility barns across Western Washington, and with a wide range of steel siding and roofing options, your new building can be designed to complement your existing property as much as it serves it.
Commercial Buildings
Post-frame is rapidly becoming the construction method of choice for light industrial and commercial buildings because it builds faster, costs less, and offers more design flexibility than steel-frame or cement-block alternatives. Wide interior spans eliminate load-bearing walls, making it straightforward to configure space for manufacturing, warehousing, offices, maintenance facilities, or any combination of uses.
PermaBilt has served commercial clients across Western Washington for over 50 years, from utilities and manufacturers to school districts and professional offices, and our commercial building representatives manage the full process from design and permitting through construction.
Denim Series Steel Buildings
The Denim Series is PermaBilt’s value-engineered line of post-frame steel buildings, designed for customers who want a dependable, well-built structure for straightforward applications like garages, equipment storage, and utility sheds. Standardized specifications in roof pitch, building dimensions, and available options keep costs down without compromising the structural integrity or weather resistance you need in Western Washington.
Every Denim Series building still comes with plans and engineering, building permit service, 29-gauge steel siding and roofing, and PermaBilt’s guaranteed craftsmanship.
PermaKit Pole Barn Kits
PermaKit pole barn kits are designed for the serious DIYer who wants PermaBilt’s post-frame engineering and material quality without the full-service build. Every kit is custom-designed to your specific project rather than pulled off a shelf, and each one ships to your Washington State site with engineered drawings and detailed instructions to keep your build on track.
The same pressure-treated posts, 29-gauge high-tensile steel siding and roofing, and lifetime-warranted materials that go into our full-service buildings go into every PermaKit.
Remodels and Upgrades
Post-frame construction is uniquely well-suited to change over time, and PermaBilt’s remodel and upgrade services are built around that advantage. Whether you need to expand an existing structure, repair damage, refresh aging siding and roofing, or add new windows and doors, our company-trained crews bring the same materials and craftsmanship to every remodel that they bring to new construction.
The result is an addition or upgrade that performs like the original and looks like it was always part of the plan.

Can I put a post-frame building anywhere on my property?
Site selection is one of the most important aspects of any building project. One of our representatives will meet with you to discuss the ideal building location, including the location of any underground utilities. We recommend holding off on any site work until the permit has been secured, which our full-time permit technicians will help to expedite.
How much room do I need for access?
Material delivery requires a minimum clearance of 10 feet wide by 12 feet high. If that clearance isn’t available on your property, we can still build, though there may be an additional charge.
Can I get a ballpark price over the phone?
Because so many variables and options go into each building, phone estimates almost always change, and we’ve found that causes more confusion than it resolves. Our policy is to provide free, written on-site estimates that are good for 30 days. Visit our Special Promotions page for a general sense of pricing before your consultation.
During which months does PermaBilt build?
We build year-round. Winter weather can slow our production schedule, but we continue building through every season. The only exception is when conditions become unsafe for our crews. The quality of our buildings does not change from season to season.
Do all buildings include a concrete floor?
Concrete is poured after the building is erected, so it’s entirely up to you. You can have us pour the floor as part of the project, or arrange it yourself at any point after construction is complete. Most customers choose to have us handle it. Our concrete floors are poured with Fibermix reinforcement and zip-strip crack control.
Are there options other than steel siding?
Yes. The most common alternative is T-111 plywood siding, available in various groove spacings, and there are a number of other siding and wainscoting options available as well. That said, most customers choose steel for its longevity and low maintenance requirements.
What type of warranty does PermaBilt offer?
Every PermaBilt building is backed by a 12-month craftsmanship warranty from the date of completion, with optional five-year weatherization and lifetime warranties also available. The steel siding and roofing carry a limited lifetime warranty from the manufacturer.
Does PermaBilt offer financing?
Yes. PermaBilt is an approved dealer with multiple home improvement lenders, and we can arrange financing with a range of options and competitive rates. Rates are dependent on your credit and income qualifications.
Will PermaBilt work with my lender?
Yes. We can work within the guidelines set by most lenders. Since you may be able to secure a more favorable rate through a lender you already have a relationship with, we encourage customers to explore their own financing options as well.
